The Challenge

Diamond Interior Contracts is an established commercial builder with over 40 years of experience in refurbishment and fit-out projects.

The business owner wanted to:

  • Drive traffic to the new website

  • Win more local work in Sussex and Kent

  • Strengthen brand visibility among commercial decision-makers

  • Position the brand as a go-to, trusted refurbishment specialist

The company had a strong history of winning contracts for office fit outs and refurbishments at educational institutions and sports clubs, but this experience was only visible on their website, not promoted through regular updates online. In addition, their work in residential construction was not being marketed despite it having potential for local growth.

The objective was to maintain existing business, while strategically increasing local awareness, to support expansion.

The Social Media Strategy

Smartist developed a structured social media strategy that focused on building connections, demonstrating experience, quality and reputation.

1. Showcasing Experience and Sector Expertise

Content was created to highlight the company’s 40+ years of experience and the range of projects undertaken. Posts demonstrated capability, reliability and professionalism,  reinforcing trust among prospective clients.

2. LinkedIn Targeting of Decision-Makers

A targeted LinkedIn campaign focused on building valuable connections with key decision-makers in targeted commercial sectors.

This positioned Diamond Interior Contracts directly in front of those responsible for refurbishment budgets and property management.

3. Facebook Recommendations to Residential Customers

Facebook was used as the primary platform to build visibility in front of a local, residential audience. Posts that communicated the company history, professionalism, trust and experience led to residential enquiries. Use of Facebook groups to recommend the business added to the impetus, building warm leads.

4. Strategic Award Positioning

We identified an opportunity to strengthen credibility further by nominating the founder for ‘Tradesperson of the Year (Sussex)’, which he went on to win! The award win was a boost to PR and has been a powerful indicator of trust and experience to share with local audiences.

 5. Consistency and Momentum

Regular, professional posting ensured the business remained highly visible online and drove traffic to the website. Even when internal content was limited due to staff being tied to a long-term project, Smartist took a creative approach to writing engaging posts that supported the brand and maintained presence.

I have to say you have done, and do, an amazing job for us. Our exposure is up — in places some 4,000% across followers, engagement and impressions.

Your ability to turn ‘builders’ ramblings’ into posts that capture the reader’s imagination is second to none.

I can highly recommend your services to anyone in any sector — nothing phases you!
— Steve Pearce, Founder, Diamond Interior Contracts
